This site has been developed as part of a larger project to develop and evaluate a rehabilitation consult for survivors of head and neck cancer using intervention mapping (explained below).
This research is funded by a Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute Innovation Grant (#702896). Prior to receiving this grant, a significant amount of the background work was completed through funding provided by a University of Toronto Faculty Research Grant, the Grant Miller Cancer Grant.
Intervention mapping is a method of developing rehabilitation interventions based on the best available evidence. The protocol for this study was published in the journal Implementation Science and can be found here.

We would like to thank the patients and clinicians at the following University of Toronto sites for their participation and sharing of knowledge that make our intervention possible:
- Odette Cancer Centre, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, ON.
- Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network, Toronto, ON.
We would also like to thank our advisory group, consisting of survivors of head and neck cancer, clinicians working in cancer care, and representatives from Cancer Care Ontario. Their feedback has been invaluable in developing this website and the rehabilitation consult.
Our goal is that all survivors of head and neck cancer receive timely access to qualified professionals who can identify and address rehabilitation needs and empower survivors to lead healthy and meaningful lives after cancer treatment.
